Donna Gwen Powledge

Donna Gwen Powledge, 88, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by family, on August 1, 2026 in Littleton CO. Born in Dallas, TX on June 25, 1938 to Elro and Estelle Paxton, she lived with her two sisters Shirley Ferrell and Mary Brock in a house built by her father and grandfather. Donna is survived by her husband of 70 years, George Powledge, their children Russell Don Powledge and Keli Powledge-Aragon, her grandchildren Russell Powledge, Mitchell Powledge, Rachel Wood, Mary Powledge, Renee Farnes, and Jackie Aragon. She also is survived by her seven great grandchildren. Donna was reunited in heaven with her parents Elro and Estelle Paxton, sister Shirley Ferrell, and her first born son John Powledge.

First and foremost, Donna was a faithful woman and loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with all of her heart. She asked God to guide her through life, which led her to meeting her one true love in front of their church while attending youth group. Through that foundation of faith, they built a loving home with their three children. She lived for God, family, and country. Donna set herself apart as a successful working woman as well. In her early adult life, she worked as a secretary for IBM as well as the federal government. Feeling called to teach the word of God, she then became a Sunday School teacher for children and led the children’s choir. Throughout her entire life, there were joys and struggles, but with God and her husband by her side, she never wavered or faltered. She read her bible daily and always kept it nearby, excited to share the word with anyone that would listen. Donna had a talent for playing the piano; music and singing filled the house daily as her children sang along. She lived a long and blessed life, married for 70 years with the most wonderful husband, while raising precious children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Donna will be greatly missed, but her family knows how much she loved them. We take comfort that she is in heaven and singing hallelujah with her parents, sister, and her son who welcomed her with open arms.
