

Donna Lou Zimmer, 95, passed away Saturday, September 3rd, 2022, at the Fairview Fellowship Home in Fairview, Oklahoma. She was born May 21st, 1927 to Ernest and Laura (Peters) Buethe of Elk Creek, Nebraska. Donna attended Elk Creek Schools prior to graduating from the Lincoln School of Commerce in 1945.
Donna moved to Denver in 1954. She worked for the United States Department of Labor as a secretary under the Veterans Employment Service for 31 years, and retired August 1st of 1986. After moving to Denver she joined Grace Lutheran Church where she attended a singles group and met the love of her life, Delbert Zimmer. They married on November 29th,1958. It wasn’t until 1963 that they were blessed with their son Brian Zimmer, then their beautiful daughter Laurel (Zimmer) Milligan in 1965. Del and Donna loved to go camping and fishing, and spent many retired winters in Florida and Texas with their family. However, their greatest joy came from caring for their grandchildren. Donna (Frogan as her grandchildren called her), loved sharing her cooking talents with them and never missed a chance to attend their extracurricular activities. They were truly her greatest joy. After living in her house until she was 93, Donna became ill and could no longer live on her own. After prayerful consideration, her kids moved her to the Fairview Fellowship Home where she lived out her life.
Donna entered into eternal life on September 3rd, 2022 with her daughter and favorite son in law by her side. Donna is survived by her two children; Brian Zimmer of Denver Colorado, and Laurel and Larry Milligan of Seiling Oklahoma. As well as her six grandchildren; grandsons Kash Zimmer of Ft Hood, Texas, Lane Milligan and wife Kayla of Kissimmee, Florida, Tyler Milligan of Binger, Oklahoma, Cody Milligan of Seiling, Oklahoma, and granddaughters Kaylee Milligan of Seiling, Oklahoma, and Skylar(Milligan) Brown (Robert) of College Station, Texas, along with two great grandsons. She was preceded in death by her husband Delbert, three brothers and a sister in law.
