Doris was born on May 26, 1932 in Bismarck, North Dakota to Olaf and Lydia Lee. She met the love of her life, Leland Bangen, at the young age of 13. Together they had three children Barry, Kelli and Leanne. In 1961, Leland's career moved them to the colorful state of Colorado where Doris worked as a ward clerk for St. Anthony's Hospital for 30 years.
Doris was a very classy woman who loved to spend time with her family and friends. She also met her lifelong best friend Coral when she was 13. She was known for her compassionate spirit, infectious smile, being independent, and her endless love for those who surrounded her. She loved to dance and sing with her husband as he played piano or guitar. Her love for the Denver Broncos was unconditional. You could find her loading up on the shuttle to the "hill" for a little entertainment. Doris's favorite Mexican restaurant was Torres where she would take all of her out of town guests for lunch. Don't underestimate her petite stature and sweetness, she could make one mean rum and Pepsi!
Doris was preceded in death by her father Olaf, mother Lydia, husband Leland, son Barry sisters: Gladys, Janice and Adeline, brothers Lawrence and Kenny and granddaughter Lindsi. She is survived by her daughters Leanne and Kelli; great granddaughter Toni Charlene, great grandson Mauricio, sister Lois and numerous nieces and nephews.
Doris was laid to rest with her husband and son.
