I just heard of Dorothy's passing today.  She too was my supervisor at Kaiser Permanente.  I told her that I'd payed my dues over 35+ years to finally get a Supervisor as great as her - so much fun, hard working and patient.  She will always remain in my thoughts as a great mentor.  I hope her family finds peace with the fact she was so loved.

Dorothy was a fabulous person.  Early in the morning, she would arrive to make ice tea for the staff.  I always enjoyed her cheerful morning routine.  When she retired, I greatly missed her and I work in another department!  She was always gentle and kind.I will always remember her in my heart.

I had the privilege of having Dorothy for my supervisor at Kaiser for 5 years. She always astonished me with her will to always remain happy and positive. I could always count on getting a smile and no complaints from Dorothy. She will be so missed by all of us whose lives she impacted. My thoughts and prayers to the family she treasured, which were relatives and friends.

My thoughts and prayers are with Dorothy's family. I will always remember Dorothy's kindness, sensitivity and strong work ethic.  I found a great role model as a nurse and person in Dorothy. She was truly a wonderful woman.

It was 12 years on 9/11 that we were packing to leave Glenwood after a great weekend when we saw what was happening on tv. We had more trips after that which ended much happier. I will keep all the good memories and the sad ones we had together. I will miss so many things with you, my friend.

I remember Dorothy as a new grad at St. Joseph Hospital. She always had a beautiful smile. She worked her way up the ladder but remained someone who was always easy to talk to.

My deepest sympathy to Dorothy's family.  Dorothy was a wonderful person.  I talked and emailed her a lot when my Mom, her Aunt Claire in Seattle, was dying last year.  She sent so much love and support to her, not to mention many cards and even a fruit basket!  She was not only great to Mom, she gave me comfort and support as well.  She was so special.  Her kindness and compassion to so many will never be forgotten.  She is at peace now and back with her beloved Ed.  My thoughts and prayers are with  you during this difficult time.

Love to all our family during this time. It was great keeping in touch with Aunt Dorothy via Facebook. I know her body just got tired. She had been through so much in the last 18 months or so. Rest in peace. You will be missed by many.

I don't rememberthe last time I talk to Dorothy or seen Dorothy but I will miss her. she just Facebook me on Friday and told me that I had Grandma's Noreen's green thumb. Dorothy is also my Godmother. when I was 15 years old she gave me a doll made out of paper and a pop bottle and I still have the doll to this day. I couldn't imagine what everybody's going through losing a sister.  Dorothy will be missed but she's in a good place. God will take really good care of her. love you Dorothy

My thoughts are with Dorothy's family and loved ones at this difficult time. I'm sure she will always be in your hearts, and that you will share many special memories. Dorothy hired me to Kaiser/the Float Pool in 2005. I respected her as a manager: she was consistently strict, but sensitive, supportive and compassionate. She used to leave us frequent voice mail messages in the mornings, and her traffic reports always made me laugh because she would tell us that she had no problem with traffic. But, driving to work at 5:30 in the morning, there probably would be NO traffic! I remember her love for her dog, Precious, and all animals. You'll be missed by many people, including me. I will always remember and love Dorothy. She always had faith in me and helped me as a "New Grad"! (But Dorothy! I'm not a new grad! I've been an RN for almost a year!") She took such good care of us, in the Kaiser Permanente Float Pool. Always our strong, fearless leader, yet always there to dry your tears and give a hug. Always encouraging, always positive. I will keep the "feedback forms" she would review and send back with smiley faces , stickers and her comments. ( which were always fun to read too!) I wish i could give you a big hug right now Dorothy!! You have influenced me greatly, been a shining example of a great boss and most of all, an awesome friend. There are no words that can express the sadness we have in our hearts for the loss of this wonderful sister, mother, aunt grandmother, neighbor,co worker and friend. Heaven got a treasure when God called you home.

Words cannot express how much I will miss Dorothy, she became a part of my life and I enjoyed every moment I shared with her. Dorothy was my mother in law and no matter what, she was always positive. I will miss her saying "Oh for Heaven Sakes". May the Lord take you by the hand and guide you to peace and happiness for eternity as you walk through the gates of heaven.

My heart sank as I read the paper this morning.  My mom's favorite boss and friend has passed.  My mom, Cruz Romero is out of town and will be heartbroken when she hears the news.  Throughout her time at St. Joseph Hospital, she always spoke of Dorothy's support, guidance and extraordinary care she offered my mom.  Dorothy helped her through some rough times and treated her with dignity and respect.  For that, I am grateful to Dorothy for having my mom's back. I remember Dorothy as always being kind and gave a warm vibe.  She made you have an instant connection with her. On behalf of the Romero family, we are deeply sorry for the loss of Dorothy. We understand she had been going through very challenging health problems and she was in our prayers, as is her family. Gob bless you.
