Dorothy M. Stark

Dorothy was the third of three siblings and lived in Nebraska until leaving for Denver, Co in 1946 to visit her brother and sister in-law for the summer. She found work and was enjoying the city life so much, that she stayed.

After her future husband, Wesley, was discharged from the US Air Force, they were married on August 8, 1946. Wesley found work with a mining and drilling equipment company and they stayed in the Denver area for the remainder of their lives.

Dorothy was a devoted, loving wife and mother of five children, and her family was always first and foremost in her life. In addition to being a meticulous housekeeper, she was an exceptional cook specializing in holiday entertaining that was appreciated by family and friends alike. She was equally devoted to her eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Dorothy was always an avid supporter of her children’s and grandchildren’s activities.

Dorothy is survived by her children: Jeani Todd of Freeland MI; William Lee Stark of Lakewood and his wife Terry; Gary Stark of Denver and his wife Jill; Michelle Lenell of Baliey Co and her husband George; Mike Stark of Golden and his wife Stefanie.

Dorothy has eleven grandchildren Stephen Bostwick, Kristie, and Tony Stark; John and Jeffery Todd; Matthew Lenell; Wesley, Libby, and Mary Jane Stark; Brady and Corey Stark; as well as nine great grandchildren – Ava, Ema, and Madelyn Todd; Oliver, Easton, and Everly Todd; Zach, Cameron, and Kali Bostwick.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Wesley Stark; her parents Clyde and Bessie Elston; her brother Darrel Elston; her sister Darleen Elston Hamel; and granddaughter Kristie Stark.

Dorothy had a long and fulfilling life, and will be missed by many.

Visitation will be from 5-7pm on Friday, September 14, 2018 with services at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 15, 2018, both at Olinger Crown Hill. She will be laid to rest with her husband, Wesley, at Olinger Crown Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contribution be made to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave.,Dallas, TX 75231 or the Arthritis Foundation,1355 Peachtree St NE, Suite 600, Atlanta,GA 30309, in Dorothy's loving memory.
