

In Eddie’s own words, “I loved my wife, Inger, very much, and was deeply saddened when she passed away in 2019.”
Eddie was born in El Paso, Texas, to Eduardo and Amelia Aguirre. He grew up in El Paso. After high school, Eddie joined the US Navy. He served on the USS Leyte Aircraft Carrier and also on the USS Des Moines Heavy Navy Cruiser.
Following his time in the Navy, Eddie joined the US Air Force and served until he retired in 1972. During his time with the Air Force, he was a Crew Chief on the KC-135 Stratotanker, (The Cadillac, as he called it), used for refueling the B52 Long Range Bomber. He was also Crew Chief on the B52.
His prominent service as Crew Chief on the B52 fleet led him to be a jet mechanic on the Nixon Presidential Fleet. He served the Presidential Aircraft Fleet for 5 years as a jet mechanic on the planes for Senators, the Vice President, and for President Nikon’s staff.
Eddie also worked as an RTD bus driver in Denver for 20 years, and then retired for a second time. He was proud to say that he was “one hell of a bus driver with an excellent, safe driving record”. In addition, he was a wonderful friend, a gracious neighbor, and loved to show off his new power tools. He was quick to use his snowblower to help his neighbors during the snowy winter months.
Eddie was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Inger Aguirre.
He had one son and two daughters during his first marriage; Arthur Edward Aguirre, Mary Evelyn Aguirre Chapman, (deceased), and Lisa Amelia Aguirre Mullen.
His 2nd marriage, to Inger, brought Eddie 2 stepsons and 3 stepdaughters; Dan Dilley (Debbie), Darin Dilley (Carolyn), Teresa Hill-Smith (Chad), Vikki Gilliland (Gilbert Belleteste), Tammi Henry (Bruce).
In addition, Eddie is survived by his brother, Gilbert Aguirre (Gloria), 2 nephews, a niece, and many adored grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved his many friends, neighbors, and healthcare workers, who also became friends.
