She is preceded in death by her mother Kasja Philippine and father LeRoi James.
She resided in Aurora, Co after moving from Sumter, South Carolina.
She obtained her Masters in Education and taught 1st grade for 27 years with the Aurora Public school district. She had a passion for teaching and viewed each student as an individual.
She was and in creditable caring person who welcomed not only stray animals, but people who entered her life.
She is survived by her 3 children her son Phillip (Terri), daughter Leonisa, and youngest son Michael; her loving grandchildren Victoria (Sean), Kimberly (Henry), Tia (Tom), Adam, and Michael II and 9 great-grandchildren with the anticipated birth of a grand-daughter who will bear her name in legacy. In addition, she is survived by 3 great-great-grandchildren.
She will be truly missed by all who called her mom, grandma, gram, nana or even friend.
