Elloise Farmer went to be with the Lord on March 14th, 2024. She lived a long and productive life.
Elloise was born on January 23rd, 1925, in Grenora ND, the eighth out of ten children to Olaf H. Svare and Ida Svare (Olsen), both 1st generation Norwegians. After high school, she and several of her sisters moved to Tacoma WA during the war. Elloise then went to work at Madigan Army Hospital. While in Tacoma she met her future husband, Harry. They were married in June 1951. In 1960 the growing family moved to Lakewood CO, where they purchased Depew Greenhouse and raised both cut flowers and three boys. In retirement, they enjoyed life together, RV traveling, and socializing with friends. She had many lifelong friends and loved to play cards and games with anyone who came along.
Elloise was active in her sorority, church, and various social groups. Her last years were spent in Minneapolis, but her heart was always in Denver.
We will always remember her kindness, grace, and positive outlook on life. We were so lucky to have such a wonderful mother. We could not have asked for any better.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Harry Leroy Farmer, her parents and many brothers and sisters. She is survived by sons Douglas Allen Farmer & wife Jeanne Ruth Farmer, Brian Keith Farmer, and Gary Leroy Farmer & wife Patricia Lynn Farmer, grandchildren Kevin Patrick Farmer & wife Jill Lynn Farmer, Darcy Jean Farmer, great-granddaughters Natalie Paige Farmer and Alexandria Morgan Farmer.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am March 25th, 2024, at Holy Shepherd Lutheran Church, 920 Kipling St, Lakewood, CO 80215.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Holy Shepherd Lutheran Church to honor Elloise’s memory and celebrate her life.
