Eloy was born in Gilman, Colorado on April 22, 1955. He graduated from Battle Mountain High School in 1973 and joined the Marines the same year. He proudly served in the Marines from 1973-1975, where he was invited to join the U.S. Marine Corps Distance Running team. Eloy graduated from Wyoming Technical Institute on September 25, 1982 with a certification as an Upholstery Technician. He was a member of The American Legion Post 6 District 1 in Las Animas, Colorado where he resided for the past five years. He called Seed and Supply his church home, where he often attended Friday morning bible studies. Eloy was a hard worker and a man of many trades. He owned and operated his own upholstery business and was a skilled carpenter. He was known by many as Andy and left a lasting impression on everyone he met because of his strong faith and his kind, thoughtful, and gracious heart.
Eloy will forever be loved by those of us he left behind. He is survived by his parents Eloy and Grace Sandoval; brothers and sisters Betty Sandoval, Esther Luna, Johnny Sandoval, Laurie Cobb, Theresa Rivera, Janet Singleton, Eric Sandoval, Lorenzo Sandoval; daughter Crystal Yepez; son Shane Guiterrez; grandchildren Sophia Yepez, David Yepez; many nieces and nephews; and his significant other Yvette Archuleta. He joins in Heaven his grandmother Josefita Sandoval, grandmother Sarah Martinez Trujillo, brother Ross Sandoval and son David Sandoval. He will be missed deeply by all who knew him and the many friends he touched.
Memorial services will be private for immediate family only on the morning of July 15, 2020 at Olinger Crown Hill Pavilion in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. He will be laid to rest at Fort Logan National Cemetery with military honors and the Honor Bell ceremony.
