Shane lived every single day like the throttle was wide open — and those lucky enough to have known him wouldn’t have had it any other way.
Elwood Shane Pott, known to everyone simply as Shane, was born on July 16, 1969, in Denver, Colorado, and passed away on July 9, 2026, just one week shy of his 57th birthday. In 56 years, he managed to pack in what most could only dream of living in a lifetime.
Shane built a career rooted in connection — a lifelong salesman with a gift for reading people and winning them over. He found his professional home at R/W and later at 1st Colorado Roofing, where his natural charisma and work ethic made him the kind of man people genuinely wanted to do business with. He wasn’t just selling; he was building relationships that would last a lifetime.
Outside of work, Shane was most alive when he was on the move — camping, boating, riding UTVs, racing, and fishing whenever the opportunity arose. He was a legendary storyteller, that had a way of filling whatever room he was in with laughter. Of course, once the grandchildren came along, a few of those classics required some creative editing. He embraced that new chapter wholeheartedly, eventually settling into a beautiful piece of property he made entirely his own, with a remarkable shop where friends gathered, projects took shape, and time slowed down just enough to savor. He built a home there too, complete with a pool, and spent countless hours in the water with his grandchildren, soaking up every beautiful unhurried moment.
Shane had a deep love for his dogs, who were among his most loyal companions and dearest friends throughout his life. He will be reunited with Jett and Leo, and though he leaves behind his faithful pupper Ripp, their bond will always be remembered.
Shane is survived by his beloved wife and lifelong partner, Tabi; his son, Jake and daughter in law, Kaylee; his daughter, Layla, and son-in-law Alex, and his son Austin, and the three grandbabies that held his heart and called him Papa—Alice, Bradley, and Mavis. He is also survived by his siblings, Rick and his wife Jana, Becky, Terri and her husband Dave, and Danny and his wife Russanna, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ron and Mary, and his deeply missed siblings Steve, Brad and his wife Theresa, and Kathy.
Shane was a funny, caring, passionate, and a truly genuine person. He will be dearly missed by the many lives he touched—each one better for having known him.
