Ernesto Gutierrez

Ever the loving, steadfast, funny, compassionate, sincere soul. He was a true friend, a dedicated companion, and an overall genuine man who humbly and enthusiastically lived life to the fullest. Life will never be the same without him, however, life was made better for all who had the honor of knowing him.

Ernie retired from Safeway after a 45 year career as a meat cutter. Ernie spent his retirement with his wife, attended Bronco games (season ticket holder for over 30 years), traveling, camping, fishing, hunting, dancing, watching daytime soap operas, and embracing every joy his life brought him.

Ernie was preceded in death by his mother, Cleo Sanchez, his brother, Albert Gutierrez, his sister, Helen Apodaca, his sons, Ernesto Gutierrez, Jr. and Larry Gutierrez, and his daughter, Rebecca Bova. Survived by his lovely wife of 33 years, Gloria Marie, his sister, Lillian Marquez, two sister-in-laws, his grandchildren, his great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews, and numerous loving friends.

A special thanks to a remarkable set of friends who have become family to our dear Ernie and Gloria: Dan and Marie Jimenez. You are truly an exceptional pair to whom we are so very thankful for your selfless love and support given throughout the years.

I'm Free

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free

I'm following the path God laid for me.

I took His hand when I heard Him call;
