Ethel was born and raised in eastern Kansas, the eldest of seven children born to Fred and Theckla Rockers. After her schooling she moved to Manhattan, Kansas, and became a Federal employee working for the "war effort" at Ft. Riley. She lived there for 11 years and it was during that time that she met Edmund Weber and married. Ed was a professional photographer and the two of them moved to Iowa and opened a photography studio, later moving to Colorado to pursue other endeavors. Ethel was again employed by the Federal Government and worked in various positions until her retirement as an adjudicator for the Veterans Administration.
Ethel loved to play cards and board games, but bridge was her favorite and she played 3-4 times a week after she retired. She was a faithful member of Our Lady of Fatima parish, and her faith was an essential part of her life. She served in a multitude of volunteer positions, and enjoyed learning to play golf. She traveled a bit after Ed had passed, having taken care of him through Alzheimers Disease. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
In 2020 she had an automobile accident that led to her lower right leg being amputated. Once again her faith served her well and she trusted God for the best outcome. She found community and new good friends at Gardens on Quail where she enjoyed book club, Bible study, activities and of course, cards. She amazed everyone by adapting to her prosthetic leg and refusing to let it limit her mobility. Her attitude was always one of positivity and optimism.
Ethel is survived by her daughter Paula (Kevin) and her son Ron, her grandchildren Travis (Rachel) and Kaylan (Greg), great-grandchildren Emma and Law, her sister Vera Pysher, and brothers Larry and Raymond (Janet) Rockers.
