Eugene Freeman Fujita

Eugene is survived by his daughter; Julie Fujita, grandson Marvin Chance (Dabrenia) and four great grandchildren; Taniya Turner, Marvin Chance Jr, Peyton Patterson and Tristan Harris.

Eugene Freeman Fujita was born January 3, 1931, to the late Harry Yeshiro Fujita and Margaret P. Pillow in Denver, Colorado. He transitioned peacefully at MacGregor Downs Health and Rehabilitation Center in Greenville, NC on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at the age of 92.

Eugene attended Denver Public Schools and graduated from North Denver High School. He received the championship award in 1949 for basketball. He graduated from the University of Denver and served in the United States Marine Corp from 1954 -1957. He received an honorable discharge as a Sergeant to take care of his sick parents. He later became the owner of Cable of America, Inc.

In 2017 he moved to Ayden, NC to be with his daughter and joined the Anointed Ones Church where he served as a Deacon. Eugene had always felt the calling of the Lord to be a minister. Serving as a Deacon allowed him to fulfill that assignment. His greatest joy was to volunteer at The Anointed Ones Mission Center making boxes of food and serving the community. He loved to fish, travel, and eat anything made from chocolate! His whole heart was to help people and animals in any way that he could.

The graveside service will be held Friday, October 27, 2023, at 9:00am at Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary and Cemetery, 7777 W. 29th Ave., Wheat Ridge, CO.
