83, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2016 in Denver, Colorado. Buzz is survived by his loving family; wife Linda Mays, daughters, Michele (David) Feely, and Vickie (Carl) Averett, son Michael Mays, brother Bill Mays, sister Evelyn Gaulin, grandchildren; Sarah Hirsch, Megan Arend, Lindsey Machendrie, Laura (Jason) Hirsch, Emily (Jacob) Holshue, Michael Averett, Teague Mays, Alexander (Sarah) Averett, Adam Averett, also 12 great grandchildren. Buzz was preceded in death by his first wife, Rebel Anne Mays, parents Harold and Hariett Mays, brother Harold Mays, and a sister Margie Burnett.
A celebration of Buzz's life will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2016, 10am in the Pavilion of Reflection located on the grounds of Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary, 7777 W. 29th Ave., Wheat Ridge, Colorado 80033.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Buzz's name to the Disabled American Veterans, at www.dav.org.
