Dr. Vanderpool is survived by his wife of 67 years, Phyllis, children, Tracy (Gary) Smith and James (Julie) Vanderpool, and grandchildren, Christina, Jeremy and Jessica. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Elsie Vanderpool, and brothers, Jack and Jim.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 form 5-7pm with Memorial serices at 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 1, 2018, both at Olinger Crown Hill.
He was placed in his crypt in a private ceremony at Olinger Crown Hill. His service to his country was recognized with full military honors rendered by the United States Army.
