

Gary Wayne Kern (74) was born on July 6, 1950, and passed away in Lakewood, Colorado, on December 7, 2024. A memorial service will be held at Olinger Funeral, Cremation & Cemetery - Crown Hill, 7777 W. 29th Ave, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033, in Heritage Hall on February 7, 2025, at 11 a.m. followed up by a reception.
Gary was the son of Bernice Nelson Kern and George Kern, both of whom preceded him in death. He was the brother of George Kern, Glenn Kern, and Karen Lena. He is survived by George and Nancy Kern, Karen Lena and her two daughters, Erin and Katie Lena, as well as his great niece and nephew Addie May and Maxwell Peterson. Along with many loving cousins across the country.
Gary graduated from Bear Creek High School in 1970 and attended some college. He pursued a career as a truck driver, which became a significant part of his life. Over the years, he worked for various trucking companies, including Performance Food Group and Werner Trucking.
Gary had a deep love for the outdoors. He enjoyed off-roading in his Jeep, kayaking, and camping with his nieces, cousins, and friends. One of his greatest joys was spending time at Lake Powell with his family, creating cherished memories.
Gary will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his laugh, his hugs, and his smile, dedication to his work, and love for his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
