Gaylan Gene Larson, 76, also known as The Dude, was a free spirit, a tennis player, a mountain and four-wheeling enthusiast, a movie watcher, and a bow-and-arrow shooter.
He never wanted to be good at just one thing. He tried a little bit of everything, and through all the years he maintained a working relationship with his brother Rick Larson at the delivery company he helped to co-found.
He was a traveler who took his family on week-long camping trips and would drive more than a thousand miles to hang at the beach with his grandchildren.
His favorite hobby was buying four-wheel-drive trucks and spray-painting them in his favorite colors.
Gaylan was born into this beautiful world in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on December 21, 1949, and left it on September 17, 2026, to move on to his next adventure with our beloved Jesus. He fought a valiant battle with cancer for more than ten years.
He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Larson; his mother, Vivian Larson; his sister Sheri Nelson; and his brother Gary Larson. He is survived by his son, Sean Larson; his daughter, Chamonix Rink; his brothers Rick Larson and Kevin Larson; and many cousins, grandchildren, and other family members.
