It was Gene who made my aunt so happy and full of life. I remember their wedding like it was yesterday and how happy they both looked. Every time I would visit, it was Gene who would say that my Aunt Diane was his soul mate and how much he loved her. One of the last times I saw Gene he told me how much Diane was his blessing from God. Well, Gene, you were a true blessing to anyone who walked in your pathway. Your smile, laughter and genuine heart will truly be missed. I promise we will take very good care of Diane. Rest In Peace.

I met Gene about 40 yrs ago. I feel so blessed to have walked with him on this journey of life. I have so many wonderful memories of our friendship that will last in my mind for the rest of my life. I will think of him often. He was an inspiration to me. He accomplished much in his lifetime. And he did so with perfection. He was a best friend and mentor to many. His love for his family and friends will never be forgotten. Gene, my brother, "Go rest high on that mountain"

I was Gene’s personal physician until 2015. It was I who received the reports that confirmed the serious health challenge he would have to face. When we met to discuss the results, I was near tears partly because he had always been so strong, joyful and full of good health and life. As we talked, he must have sensed my burden. He had many questions but finished by saying how confident he was in me as his doctor and how much he appreciated my care. He was able to go beyond his own concerns to reach out and help us both be stronger during a difficult time. Since then, I have heard from many who have had similar experiences. Gene helped me be a better doctor with his dignity, respect, consideration and awareness. Quite a beautiful man.

I met Gene, “Sir William Hawke” during an archery practice, his knowledge and skills were amazing and his sense of humor equally so. He helped me to understand and learn more about archery and the archery community. He truly will be missed...

I met Gene when he came into Bear Creek Archery, many many years ago when I managed the range for the former owner John Tidwell. Gene and I shot together as friends, he was always talking about the love of his life, his wife, and how she made quilts. Being a quilter also, I finally met her. They were the kind of friends and lovers, that God made for each other. I'm sending hugs and my best to the family. Char

Worked with Gene back in the Jacobs days. It was a true pleasure to work with someone who took a real bite out of life. From the medieval suits of armor and home made bows and arrows, the stories and the life well lived is a true testament to his honoring the time we are blessed to be given.
