He is also survived by brother-in-law and spouse Giorgio Scialdone and Maura Ottaviani, and nephew Matteo Scialdone.
George, referred to as “King George '' by those he led and served alongside, gave 22 honorable years to the Air Force in various healthcare related roles. He was a devoted freedom-loving American who, as the son of immigrants, saw the fruits of the American Dream play out in his own life. In his younger years he excelled at racquetball and flourished boogie-boarding on Hawaii's waves. George enjoyed watching football and soccer (usually with a wager involved), going to Rockies games with his granddaughter, and he never, ever turned down the excellent food prepared by Rosetta, his wife of 45 years. His grandkids affectionately called him Bub. They also referred to him as “the King of $20’s” because he never missed the opportunity to lavish his grandkids on a birthday. His wife knew him best as the deeply emotional and caring person that he was and could never resist his witty humor. He will be truly and dearly missed by his family.
Service Details: George will be interned with his wife, Rosetta, at Fort Logan Cemetery as part of a private family ceremony. For those who may wish to honor George in the Catholic Church, Mass Intentions may be made in his honor. He will be remembered by his family at Christ the King Catholic Church in Evergreen, Colorado and St. Ann's Catholic Church in Gulf Breeze, Florida.
