

Geraldine (Gerri) Mae Deem passed away peacefully on December 26, 2025 surrounded by family at Legend of Broomfield Assisted Living Facility under Hospice care. She was born on May 17, 1940 in Pierre, South Dakota and was the daughter of Stephen Guy and Jessie June (Parker) Humphrey.
Gerri graduated from Pierre High School in 1958 and shortly after that she moved to Denver, CO. Gerri and former spouse Tom Deem II had four children together who they adored. After becoming single again, she worked for Jefferson County Public Schools. While employed at Jeffco Schools, she attended Regis University earning her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a minor in Computer Information Systems and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1989. She volunteered in the Victim’s Advocate Programs both in Lakewood and Grand Junction, CO. She also served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Turkmenistan in 1995 teaching business classes at the college level.
Gerri was a caring and very thoughtful lady. She was an avid golfer, bowled in a league for many years and loved to play cards and dominos with family and friends. She was incredibly proud of her three children and three grandchildren. She loved watching and supporting them in all of their school and sport endeavors.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by two of her brothers, Robert M. Humphrey of Dumfries, VA and William G. Humphrey of Aurora, CO and her infant child, Matthew.
Gerri is survived by her children, Colleen (Per Olsson) Deem of Fraser, CO, Kathy Deem of Golden, CO, Tom (Debbie) Deem of Thornton, CO; her grandchildren, Karl (Dana) Olsson of Redwood City, CA, Samantha Deem of Thornton, CO and Sydney Deem of Thornton, CO; her siblings, Joan (Gene) Hoffman of Rapid City, SD, Charles Humphrey of Ft Pierre, SD, Carol Rysavy of Apache Junction, AZ and Linda (Brent) Dykstra of Ft Pierre, SD and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life in the chapel and graveside service will be held on May 16, 2026 at Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary and Cemetery at 7777 W. 29th Ave, Wheat Ridge, CO at 1 pm. We are delaying her celebration of life due to family circumstances and to allow many other family members to plan to attend. The service will be on her birthday eve!
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A Memorial Service will be held at Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary & Cemetery, located at 7777 West 29th Ave, Wheat Ridge, CO, 80033, on May 16, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
A Committal Service will follow at the same location from 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm.
