Geraldine "Gerrie" Rita Charlotte Frohne

Geraldine “Gerrie” Rita Charlotte Frohne, age 86, of Lakewood, Colorado. Gerrie passed away peacefully from natural causes at her assisted living residence on Friday May 22, 2026. She was born to Maurice and Marie Brown on December 4th, 1939, in Evanston, Illinois.

Gerrie is preceded in death by her parents Maurice and Marie, her stepmother Gloria, her son Kyle as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Gerrie is survived by her daughter Erica (John) Conner, her son Alex (Jackie) Frohne and three grandchildren, Molly and Wesley Frohne and Grant Conner.

Gerrie graduated from Stanford University and began working in human resources in California. In 1990, Gerrie received her Master of Social Work from the University of Denver and worked as a substance abuse counselor for The Arapahoe House for over 25 years. Gerrie’s lifelong passion was advocating for people with disabilities and their families for over 50 years.

In her free time Gerrie enjoyed neighborhood groups, high school club reunions, traveling to visit family and friends in Illinois, Florida, Washington and Alaska.

Gerrie will be greatly missed by family, friends, and the Colorado disability community.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday, June 17th, 2026, at ten in the morning at Baldoria on the Water 146 Van Gordon Street, Lakewood, CO 80228. Reception to follow.

The family will receive guests just before the service.
