Ghen was born on October 27, 1949 in Kyoto, Japan. He grew up in Tokyo and immigrated to the United States by himself at 18 years old. He worked diligently to establish a life, career and family in Los Angeles, CA. With cooking as one of his passions he moved to Denver, CO in 1992 with his family, where he became an owner of a well-established Japanese restaurant for close to 15 years. During those times, he worked meticulously with his wife, Alice to run the restaurant 12 hours a day, 6 days a week. Mondays were his days off and he spent them playing golf, watching movies and T.V. shows, doing housework and always having dinner as a family. He was known as a hard worker and headstrong. He was a sports enthusiast and his top three to watch were football, wrestling and golf. He also enjoyed mahjong, and reading thriller and mystery novels.
Ghen was preceded in death by his father, mother and wife, Alice. He is survived by his four daughters, Kristine, Emily, Stella and Tiffany, 2 sons in-law, six grandchildren, and his older sister.
