Gladys “Glady” Wood of Denver, Colorado passed away Friday, February 25, 2022 at the age of 90. Glady married John Wood in 1950. They were together 43 years and had two daughters, Janet and Sharon. John passed away in 1993. Years later Glady found another chance at love. She married Frank “Buster” Schanus in 2001 and they made their home in Townsend, Montana. Glady and Buster came back to Colorado in 2012.
Glady was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She is survived by her daughter Sharon Wood (Lori Tielke), grandson Russell Totty (Tammy), granddaughter Sherrie Helm (Toby), five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her first husband John Wood, her daughter Janet Totty, and her second husband Frank “Buster” Schanus.
Glady had a great and sometimes wicked sense of humor. She loved traveling across the lands and seas, making friends everywhere she went. Many of those friends became more like family to her and she cherished them as well as her own family. She had a great passion for music, following several local musical artists. Glady was very proud of her collection of horse statues and southwestern art. However, Glady’s greatest joy in life were her family and friends.
We love and miss you so much. We are forever grateful for the unending love you gave us and the time spent with you.
