“Bud”, as he was called by his family, was born on April 27, 1939 in Denver, Colorado to Renabelle Kerr and Claude Crofford. The second of four children, he lived his entire life in Colorado.
In May 1963, Glen married the love of his life, Myrna Hartford, and the couple had three children. He was employed as a Systems Analyst at Lockheed Martin from which he retired. During his retirement, he founded Great Western Creations and made custom hoof picks and ice scrapers. He was featured in both the local newspaper and an article in Reader’s Digest.
Glen was a very loving husband and father. He loved the outdoors including hunting, fishing and camping with family and friends. An active volunteer with the precision horse riding organization, The Westernaires, he taught many boys and girls all about horsemanship. Glen also loved vintage airplanes and would take his wife, daughters and grandkids to the airport and sit for hours watching the planes come and go.
Despite many health challenges over the years, including surviving Polio, Glen never complained. He approached his setbacks with bravery and grace, inspiring his daughters and others to always have hope and never give in to self-pity. “You just need to keep plugging on” was his motto.
Glen touched the lives of many who crossed his path. He was a friend to animals and loved the many dogs he had throughout his life. His gentle soul, encouragement, patience and dad jokes will be deeply missed by all.
Glen is survived by his wife of 57 years, Myrna Crofford (Hartford); his daughters Renee Crofford, Deborah Crofford and Angela Reynolds (Craig) , five grandchildren; Leo Crofford, Hunter Stransky, Tucker Stransky, Clint Reynolds and Tiffany Reynolds, his brother Jon Crofford and his sister Carol Daniels. He is preceded in death by his parents Renabelle and Claude Crofford and his sister Janet Crofford.
The family is planning a celebration of life in April 2021 around Glen’s birthday.
