Gloria E. Whitfield

Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, volunteer and dedicated CU fan, found her peace on March 18, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer at 75. Gloria grew up in Edgewater and attended Edgewater High School. Everyone who knew Gloria knew the only thing more important to her other than her family were the athletic programs at The University of Colorado. She was a die hard Buff fan and a generous supporter of the CU Athletic Department. Gloria attended countless games in Boulder as well as traveling to various cities to support her beloved

buffs. More importantly she religiously attended numerous sporting events for her own son's and her grandchildren's over the years. Also close to Gloria's heart was the Bonfils Blood Bank, where she volunteered for thirty years coordinating and attending monthly blood drives in Arvada. Gloria also worked for the Arvada United Methodist Church for 25 years which she enjoyed immensely. She is survived by her husband Robert of 56 years, sons, Bob (Maureen), Dan (Vicki) and Jim (Carmen) and seven grandchildren, Brittany, Brian, Coleen, Toby, Cody, Sean and Alex, sister Caryl DeBroder and brothers Charles, (Jeannie) DeBroder, Glen DeBroder and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her sisters Gladys, Jean and brother Gordon DeBroder. We will miss her family meals, her wry sense of humor and her extremely kind heart.
