

Formerly of Denver and Morrison, Colorado, he passed away peacefully in Castle Rock on November 18, 2014, of natural causes.
He is survived by his wife Donna Marie VanderWeg Jenkins, children Jimmie Jay Jenkins, Joseph Jens Jenkins, Margie Kay Jenkins, Dawn Ann Jenkins Kapaun, 12 Grandchildren and 15 Great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Marjorie June Larsen Jenkins and son Sterling Harry Jenkins.
Jenkins attended St. Joseph High School in Denver before graduating from Roselle Park High School, Roselle Park, New Jersy, in 1939. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II as an Aviation Electronics Technician's Mate, First Class, working on the development of RADAR.
He and his late brother William (Bill) Jenkins founded the Jenkins Bros Hardware Store chain after the war and later operated Ideal Investment and Construction Co. and Jenkins Industrial Builders, Inc., building many warehouses and other buildings around the Denver area.
He was an avid golfer and pilot of private planes, bi-planes and gliders. He also enjoyed big game hunting.
Services at 10:00 AM on Monday in the Pavilion of Reflection at Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary & Cemetery, 7777 W 29th Ave, Wheat Ridge, Colorado.
