Jake was born in Upstate New York and spent his young life there. He graduated from High School and began to further his education there before joining the United States Army and serving his Country in Berlin, Germany and Vietnam.
After returning from overseas, Jake continued his studies and earned a B.A. in Psychology and Criminal Justice.
Jake spent his career in Law Enforcement and was part of the first Wheat Ridge Police Academy class in 1970. In 1982, Jake was promoted to Chief of Police where he remained until retirement from the force in 1989. He continued to consult and work with various State law enforcement agencies for the remainder of his career.
Jake had a genuine love for education and continued his studies throughout his life.
He is predeceased by his loving Wife, AnnMarie Jaquay and by his son Eric Jaquay.
He is survived by his children Matthew, Joseph and Mary, 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
