Irene Backes passed away February 21st after suffering a severe stroke December 19th 2020 Irene married Joe Backes October 4th, 1954. Irene's love for life was contagious, no matter where she went know one was a stranger. She loved to laugh and joke and enjoyed life to the fullest.

She loved camping with the Colorado Eagles, Colorado chapter, which she and Joe did for many years.

She was always busy with making jewelry, sewing, playing her organ or going to meet with friends She was an ardent Bronco fan, never missing an opportunity to watch a game.

She was a member of the Arvada Presbyterian church and served on numerous committees.

Irene is survived by her daughter Ruth Brienza (Gene) son Mark Backes ( Vicki), Grandson Giovanni Brienza ( Dayna) ,Great Grandaughter Aria Brienza, Granddaughters Nyssa Backes & Tessa Backes Her Brother David Ruth of Cornwall Pennsylvania.

Numerous nieces and nephews
