

Jack passed away on Monday, November 18, 2024 at 93 years old. Jack was born in Denver to Asher and Jean Patten and grew up at 1644 Adams Street In Denver’s City Park neighborhood. He and his brother Bob used to build and race Hydroplane boats and would test drive them under the cover of darkness at City Park’s Ferril Lake! Jack met the love of his life, Dolores, at North Texas University in Denton, Texas when they were both Freshmen. They fell in love, married and were together over 72 years. Jack and his brother Bob were best friends and also business partners owning and running Materials Handling Equipment Company for 50 years. Jack found his passion and some of his best friends through the Shriners as well as the folks he worked with for those 50 years. He was Potentate of El Jebel Shrine in 1990 and was involved until his passing with an amazing group of folks that rode motorcycles all over the country together. Jack was predeceased by Dolores and his brother Bob in February 2023. Jack leaves behind his son Jack D. Patten, Jr. (Olivia Ortega Patten), his daughter Terry Thoeming, his grandchildren Jack D. Patten, III (Karen Balutowski), Randall Patten and Asher Thoeming (Kate Heffernan), Great Grandchildren Hannah, Avery, Liam, Quattro and Luke. The family will hold a memorial service in April of 2025 and more information coming after the first of the year. Donations can be made to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children.
