Jack's journey through life was filled with adventure, service, and love. On June 16, 2026, Jack passed away peacefully at home, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, generosity, and enduring friendships. Jack's early years were spent in Englewood, Colorado, where he developed a love for the outdoors and a profound appreciation for nature. Jack attended Englewood High School and answered the call of duty and served his country with honor in the United States Army from 1964 to 1967. His service in the military was a testament to his dedication and sense of duty and values that he carried with him throughout his life. Following his military service, Jack embarked on a career that would span several decades, with his most memorable role being an Engineer for the Union Pacific Railroad. It was here that Jack found camaraderie and a deep connection with his fellow workers. His commitment to his colleagues was further demonstrated through his role as a union representative for the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers. Jack's fairness and integrity made him a respected advocate and friend to many. Outside of work, Jack's heart belonged to the great outdoors. An avid sportsman, he found joy in hunting, fishing, camping, and boating. These passions were not just hobbies, but a way of life that he shared with family and friends, creating cherished memories that will endure in the hearts of those who loved him. Jack was predeceased by his father, Ralph Kirby, his mother, Jean Kirby, and his brother, Roy Kirby. He is survived by his two dogs, Myia and Moose, sister Teri and brother Tony, loving children, Patric Stanton (Angie), Jackie Favorite (William) and Jeanette Collins (Travis). Jack's legacy also lives on through his eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish the stories of their grandfather. For the past ten years, Jack shared his life with his devoted girlfriend, Sue Acree, whose companionship brought him immense joy and comfort.
