Jake will always hold a special place in my heart. We dated off and on (mostly on) for the past 3 and a half years. We met on St. Patrick’s Day 2018 and I knew I was in trouble. The height, the beard, the amazing head of hair, the humor, wit, and those sparkling blue eyes! Then I found out he rode motorcycles. I didn’t stand a chance. Jake and I loved to go for sunset rides on his bike, spend weekends up in the mountains, take Rocco for neighborhood walks, and mostly hang at his house and do normal, boring things most couples do like cook, clean, and watch tv. Even when we just hung out at home I was so happy just to be with him in his presence. I felt calm, safe, and protected if he was with me. I was always in awe of Jake, he could do anything he tried easily. He was shy and very guarded, but he felt comfortable around me so his walls were often down. Seeing Jake unguarded and able to be himself made me so happy. I miss him so much, but I know he’s looking down on us and would like us all to live our lives filled with adventure, laughter, and happiness so let’s do just that in his honor. I love you Jake ❤️

Dear Jerry, I can only imagine the pain and anger you and your wife are going through.  My heart understands the loss you're feeling. No words make it easier and time just deadens some of the pain. Be strong for your family, but take care of yourself too.   You are loved by a lot of people and they want to help you, let them.  Allow yourself to be taken care of for awhile - you deserve it too. The neighborhood won't be the same without your smile, we miss you already. Thanks for being an easy friend to make, and one of the first people to make me feel welcome here when I was new and nervous. You, your lovely partner, and certainly Rocco brightened a lot of my long hard days this past year. That meant more than I bet you realized as we all found ourselves separated from our usual networks of support. So here's my thank you for making a dark time brighter.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Jake. I didn't get the opportunity to know Jake as the man he became, but I have tons of fond memories of Jake when our kids hung out and played hockey......back in the day. My prayers, love, and thoughts are with you all through the loss of your beloved Jake. He will always be remembered and loved.

I have known Jake since 7th grade, we met the first day of school and ever since that day we have been best friends.  We did all the crazy teenage boy things, skateboarding, running around the neighborhood, talking to girls, and causing our teachers headaches.  We used to go snowboarding in Jake's car.  We nicknamed it the exploder.  It was always a little scary hoping that we would make it there in one piece.  After a matter of time, we became more like brothers.  We would fight one day and the next it was as if it never happened.  He was more than a friend to me he was family.  He was over at my house so often that my neighbors knew him.  They called him handshake Jake.  We would watch broncos’ games together, if they lost, I would tell him that he was a jinx and that he wasn’t allowed to come over the following weekend; I always called and he always came back.  He held a special place in my family.  When my daughter Olivia was born, he was there.  He played catch with my stepdaughter Kylie and even wrestle with my dog.  He was always there for my kids birthdays with gifts in hand excited to wish them a happy birthday.  I still can’t wrap my head around the idea of Jake being gone.  He was such a special friend to me and he was always there when I needed him.  I will always love him and will think of him often.  Jake will be missed more than I can ever express.

We love you Jake. We will miss you dearly. Please look after our Jaxsen til we get there. This world lost sunshine today. It is not fair. Although I have only had the blessed pleasure of knowing you for the past 8 years.... you touched my heart young man. Your whole family has and today we lost a piece .. a valuable piece of our world. It doesn't seem real. Fly high Jake. You sir will never be forgotten. We aren't here for a long time .. but you have left your mark... until we meet again... we love you.
