Ridge, Colorado at the age of 93. Born on June
18, 1919 in Evans, Colorado, Jim graduated from
Wheat Ridge High School in 1938. He married Eleanor
Leebrick, on July 21, 1945. Jim ran Gibson
Dairy in Wheat Ridge from the time he was 12
years old. He worked hard his entire life, first the
family dairy which later became Arvada-Gibson,
and later as the owner of Dairy Queen which he
ran from 1972 until his semi-retirement in 1990.
He was beloved by his family, friends and multiple
employees, many of whom started with him as
teenagers and remained close to him throughout
his life. He is survived by his son, Robert Gibson
(Faye), Denver, Colorado; his daughter, Barbara
Shearer (Ted), Lakewood, Colorado; 8 grandchildren,
7 great-grandchildren, and his sister Mabel
Gibson Schipper. He was preceded in death by
his wife Eleanor; his parents, Henrietta Vitense
and James Gibson, and sister, Marion Gibson Davis.
Services; Saturday 9 am, Crown Hill Cemetery.
