

Jim married Deborah Gonzales on November 27, 1970 and were married for 47 years. They met while he was stationed at Fitzsimons Army Hospital in Aurora, Colorado. They had one child together, Matthew David Jorgensen.
Jim served his country as a Sargent in the U.S. Army in the late 1960's during the Vietnam Campaign with Co A 2d Bn 12th Cav 1st Air Cav Div APO. During this time he received the Purple Heart, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal w/60 Device, and Good Conduct Medal.
After retiring from the Army, Jim returned to school at Metro State University where he earned his B.A. in Business. He spent most of his professional career in Banking, Private Endeavors and Retail Sales.
Jim loved the Blackhawks, Avalanche, Broncos, Chicago Bears and the Chicago White Sox.
His family meant everything to him, he enjoyed helping others, and a good joke.
Jim is survived by his wife, Deborah; sisters Susan (Dick) Cortese, Becky Heins, Louann (Edd) Hupp; brother Steve (Susan) Gonzales; nieces and nephews Kristy Molander, Brett (Amber) Molander, Megan (Brad) Voosen, Jason Heins, Joseph (Nina) Earl and James Earl.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents Earl Clarence Jorgensen and Dorothy Susan Daly; son Matthew David Jorgensen; brother-in-law Thomas Heins.
A memorial service for Jim will be held Friday, March 9, 2018 at 3:00 PM at Olinger Crown Hill Pavilion of Reflection located at 7777 West 29th Ave, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033. A private inurnment to take place at a later date.
