Jim was always so kind. He was patient and helpful, with a great sense of humor!

Jim made everyone feel at ease, welcome, important. He will be missed very much by all who knew him.

Thoughts and prayers for his family, and his CU family, as they endure this tremendous loss.

I was so shocked and saddened to hear of Jim's passing. He was a great friend and peer to work with in the Sponsored Projects Accounting Office for many years. He always made me smile and had joy in his heart for everyone. Although I was awful at sign language, Jim would laugh and encourage me to keep trying. He even made up some special signs that he knew I would remember to help me. I would like to let his family know what a very special person Jim was - very caring, always helpful, compassionate and a true joy to have known. He will be greatly missed by many.

I was deeply saddened to learn about Jim's passing. I worked with him for many years at the university and he was always a bright spot just a few doors down the hall. I know he was really looking forward to retiring and enjoying the fruits of his diligent and valuable work. Come rain or shine or snow, and snow, and more snow, he was always in the office before me. He was a real jokester and I will always remember and miss him.

I cherish my friendship with Jim. We often took walks at work or went to lunch together. I remember the time I wanted a kitten and his friend's cat had kittens. He offered to take me to the friend's house. I thought it would be a short little drive. Turns out the house was practically in Kansas and took us two hours to get there. Jim went out of his way for his friends. People at work knew we were friends. As people have stopped by my office to remember Jim they remember Jim's smile and his sweet, kind soul. I also remember his patience with my terrible sign language ability. He would gently remind me when I got it wrong for the hundredth time. I was blessed to call him my friend and I'll miss him forever.

We have had the honor of having Jim as our neighbor and his wonderful Mother Alice for many years now. He would always have that huge smile on his face and wave every time we saw him out side with Teddy and Biddy. I'm so sad knowing I will no longer see him.
Keeping your family in our thoughts and prayers.

Although I never had the privilege of meeting Jim in person, his positive personality and attitude were clearly displayed in the work emails we exchanged. He will be missed. My thoughts are with his loved ones, wishing them comfort and peace.
