Jim was born on January 30, 1935 in Ness County, Kansas to Clement A. and Rose Urban.
Jim married the love of his life, J. Marie (Herndon), who survives him, on March 13, 1954. They were married 67 years. He is survived by 5 children: Rhonda Snyder (David), Janie Stephens (Gary), Jim A. Urban (Susan), Jon Urban (Lynn), Ken Urban (Amy), 17 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren with 1 on the way. He is also survived by his brother, Jerry Urban (Vicki). Preceded in death by his mother Rose, his father Clement and 12 siblings.
Jim was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior. Jim loved his family and friends. Jim loved snow skiing and did so until he was 78 years old.
Jim enjoyed his work as a Real Estate Broker for 57 years. He founded his own real estate company called Urban Companies in 1986 that continues today by the 2nd and 3rd generations. Many of Jim's clients became friends.
Jim was a president for the Jefferson County Board of Realtors. He was a guest professor for real estate at CU and a great speaker. He was a member of Red Rocks Baptist Church.
A visitation for Jim will be held Friday, March 18, 2022 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at Red Rocks Baptist Church, 14711 W. Morrison Rd, Morrison, Colorado 80465. A funeral service and reception will occur at Red Rocks Baptist Church on Friday, March 18, 2022 at 10 AM. A burial service will follow from 1:30 PM to 2:15 PM, at Crown Hill, 7777 West 29th Ave, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033.
