

Janet Lee Karel (Bradshaw) died September 3rd, 2014 in Wheatridge, CO. She was born on March 24th, 1935 to Wray Bradshaw and Catherine (Stewart) in Detroit, Michigan. She had one older sister, Beverly. Her beloved father died when Jan was only thirteen. She later graduated from the University of Michigan in nursing and worked as an RN in the pediatric setting. She met her husband, Jim, in Ann Arbor while he was interning at the U of M Hospital. There were married on June 7th, 1959. After residency at the Mayo Clinic and the birth of their first daughter, Lynn, they moved to Denver. Jim got settled into his medical practice while they completed their family with daughters Laura and Jenny. After raising the three girls Jan returned to work as a nurse, this time in the mom baby unit at Lutheran Hospital where she worked until her retirement. Through the years Jan was very involved in her faith, spiritual readings and a great student of scripture. She was involved in the Contemplative Outreach of Colorado. She spent her later years enjoying the unfolding lives of her 7 grandchildren and was affectionately known to them as Nana.
Jan is survived by husband, Jim; three daughters and their spouses, Lynn and Rob Dattilo, Laura and Scott Brookins and Jenny and Roger Schulte; seven grandchildren Ethan, Vincent, Zachary, Amelia, Jacob, Newland and Collette.
