Jeanette was born on May 28, 1924 in Wausa, Nebraska to Carl August and Bertha Marie (Olson) Swanson. After high school, (where she played the snare drum in the marching band!) Jeanette attended business school in Lincoln, Nebraska and worked until she met and married William A. Blatter in 1947. Bill and Jeanette moved to Storm Lake, Iowa, where Susan Marie was born. After a move to Ft. Dodge, Iowa , Steven William was born. While living in Fort Dodge, Bill accepted a promotion and transfer to the International Division of Eli Lilly Pharmaceutical Company and the family relocated to Cali, Colombia, where Robert Carl (Tico) was born. After a transfer to Guatemala, William Alan was born. In 1965, the family relocated to Wheat Ridge, Colorado. Jeanette and Bill were among the earliest members of Shepherd of the Hills Presbyterian church.
Jeanette volunteered at Lutheran Hospital for 35 years. Once a week, she comforted anxious families in the surgery waiting room with compassion and caring.
She loved playing bridge, listening to music, (nostalgic, jazz, and Elvis gospels), and following her favorites in golf, tennis and our Colorado teams. Jeanette was a faithful Nebraska Cornhusker fan, proud of her family ties there. She was also proud of her Swedish heritage and grateful for the wonderful upbringing she enjoyed in her small Nebraska town. She loved being a homemaker and traveling with her family.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband Bill, sister Ardene (Swanson) Galloway. She will be dearly missed by her daughter Susan Trimm (Fred), son Steven, son Tico (Gretchen), son Bill, and granddaughters Elizabeth Durham (Jimmy) and Jamie (Kasia).
Jeanette will be interred at the Shepherd of the Hills columbarium, with her husband Bill.
