February 8, 1944 – July 7, 2021
Jeanette Sue Gittins of Arvada, CO went home to be with the Lord in the early morning of July 7, 2021. She was 77 years old. Jeanette passed away at home while recovering from a surgery to repair an aneurysm she had suffered in the days prior to her passing.
Jeanette Sue Mannon was born in Oklahoma and was one of five children born to Truman and Lorene Mannon. At a young age she moved to Colorado with her family and grew to adulthood in Wheat Ridge Colorado. As a young girl she met a neighborhood boy named Dean Gittins that she would one day marry. They were married at the Fruitdale Baptist Church on February 2, 1963.
Jeanette was a mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Raising her children and being a grandmother was her greatest joy in this world. She genuinely enjoyed spending time with her husband Dean and her family. Hosting family gatherings was something that she loved. No matter the occasion, she could be counted on to ensure everyone was welcome, well fed and had a smile on their face.
Jeanette was always highly active and loved spending time outdoors. Over the years she enjoyed camping, fishing, skiing, boating, and cycling. To no one’s surprise she remained active in her retirement years and loved playing golf with her husband and having picnics with family and friends.
Jeanette is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Dean, son Gary, daughter Gina, daughter JoAnn, seven grandchildren Briana, Kyle, Hunter, Jake, Conner, Emily, and Caleb, two great grandchildren Ricky and Dalton, as well as two brothers Gene and Truman.
Friends and family are invited to attend a viewing on July 17, 2021, from 3:00 to 5:00 pm, at Crown Hill Mortuary 7777 W. 29th Ave, Wheat Ridge, Co. Friends and family are welcome to join in her memorial service at 1:30 pm, on July 19, 2021, at Applewood Baptist Church located at 11200 W. 32nd Ave, Wheat Ridge, Co.
