Jeremy Collins Fleshman was born on October 4, 1976 in Denver, Colorado to Michael and Betty Fleshman. He was the oldest of two boys born into this family; he has a younger brother Jacob. Growing up Jeremy and Jake were very close and were described as “thick as thieves.” One story Jeremy’s mother remembers as a favorite memory was when Jeremy asked if he could take Jake for a bike ride around the neighborhood. She said yes, and three hours later when the boys returned, she discovered they had taken the green belt and rode out to Coors in Golden and back…a twelve-mile “ride in the neighborhood!” Jeremy grew up and was educated in Denver and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1995.
Jeremy had a love for cooking, one of his first jobs was at a steakhouse; Mr. Steak, where he met Selena. Selena and Jeremy had one daughter together, Taylor. Later in Jeremy's life, he met Shannon and they were married in 2006. They had one daughter, Breanna. Jeremy also has three stepchildren: Tyler, Alexis, and Destiny, which Jeremy treated and cared for them like they were his children. Jeremy and Shannon were married for eight years. Following their divorce, Jeremy still took part in all family activities and visited every weekend.
Jeremy had a successful career in sales. He has worked for several lawn care companies and at Home Advisor. Like any successful salesperson, he was a “charmer,” very personable, and everyone liked him. He was also very charismatic, hilarious, and a great storyteller. He had a big heart and went out of his way to help others. Jeremy enjoyed life and found joy in everything.
Jeremy had an eclectic variety of hobbies: panning for gold, ghost hunting, fishing, and retro collections, including matchbox cars and comic books; he also collected silver and gold coins. Jeremy loved all animals, but he especially liked orangutans. He was known to be a “night owl” and loved staying up late and cooking with his nephew, Brody. As mentioned earlier, Jeremy loved to cook and was a very good cook.
Jeremy had an outgoing personality. He had many friends growing up and as an adult. Some of his closest friends also grew up in the same neighborhood where Jeremy lived. Fred and Fred's younger brother Dan, Nick, and Jake were fast friends and lifelong friends. This group of boys also watched out for and took care of Janelle (Fred and Dan’s sister). They grew up in a neighborhood where everyone looked out for the kids in the community. The Hughes and King Family were very integrated into Jeremy’s life and his family as well as his nearby relatives. There were a lot of “adoptive siblings” in the neighborhood.
Jeremy’s life was lived by making, nurturing, and keeping relationships throughout his lifetime. Those who knew and loved him will miss him, but he will not be forgotten!
