Jerry graduated from Escondido High School then enlisted in the Navy and served as an aviation photographer in Adak, Alaska. He also played softball for the 12th Naval district in Alameda, CA, and continued to play baseball at Long Beach College. While living in Hobbs, NM, he met and married Patrica Ann. Jerry’s career in the oilfield took him many places, eventually settling in Colorado.
In 1991 Jerry founded the Knights of Swallows golf event, an annual fundraiser that funded a cause near and dear to him, caring for workers injured in the oilfield fires by supplying equipment and education, and for the needs of patients and families.
In December 2017 Jerry was nominated and received recognition as 7 Everyday hero for his humanitarian efforts, a source of well deserved pride for him and his family.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Jack Clinkscales and Allen H. Clinkscales. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann (Petersen) Clinkscales; his daughter Barbara Clinkscales and sons George, Gary, and Larry Clinkscales, his niece, Karen Sue Forehand, 6 Grand Children, and 7 great-grandchildren.
