JoAnne was born in Morrisonville Illinois. She is the daughter of A.L. Grundy and Viola Funk Grundy Stricklin and the granddaughter of Otto Funk – “The Walking Fiddler”.
She enjoyed reading with her kitty in the big tree of her grandmother’s house where she was born and lived until graduating from high school. She moved in with her Aunt in St Louis and studied shorthand and typing and soon became a secretary for a prominent lawyer. She met and married Edward Rankin in May of 1946. The couple had one child, Janet. JoAnne and Janet moved to Decatur in 1947 to live with JoAnne’s sister and soon after the two moved to Taylorville Illinois where JoAnne met and married Steve Mossholder. The new family moved to Denver in 1950 where they brought four more children into their lives: Steve, Don, Andy, and David.
JoAnne had many passions in life among them being bridge, poker, dancing and traveling. But above all, she loved spending time with her children, twelve grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. JoAnne will definitely be missed by all of her family and friends.
