Joel has a special place in our hearts from the moment we meet him 30 some years ago. Always positive about life. Encourgaging works spoken to our children. He will be missed. Love and Prayers to all of his family.

Joe was very special. Walked me down the aisle when I got married. Loved him dearly. Was willing to be my guardian cause my adoptive parents were old enough to be grandparents. Was a special father figure for me. We lived on the farm and always loved to see our city cousins visit us. Always loved his hugs. Lots of special loving memories. Loved him very much. To the entire Abney family, you are all in our prayers. We had the pleasure of meeting your father, father in-law, grandfather, greatgrandfather, uncle and friend only a few short years ago. From the first time I shook his hand and gave him a hug I felt as though I knew him all of my life. He will be missed by his family down south. God Speed Mr. Joel. Love always Pam & Barry.

I knew Joel for over 30 years, and he was a good friend, and always supportive, somebody told us years ago to get in somebody's back pocket and stay there. Joel has been in my back pocket for over 30 years. He did a lot of good over the years, and I am sure he had a back pocket full of people over the years.-- Don Cahoy
