80, a retired Denver Police Officer passed away peacefully on December 11, 2016 in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. John is survived by his loving family; his wife of 26 years, Carole Ballegeer, sons, Greg (Terry) Ballegeer, Gary (Diane) Ballegeer, and John (Laurie) Ballegeer, and daughter, Michelle (Brian) Stringer, 11 grandchildren; Jeremy Lyons, Daniel Lyons, Rebecca Lyons, Mark Ballegeer, Elise Ballegeer, Gail Lewis, Joe Ballegeer, Paul Ballegeer, Chance Ballegeer, and Ben and Jack Stringer, also 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Ballegeer, brother Ronald Ballegeer, daughter Andrea Patterson, and first wife Mary Lou Thyfault.
Visitation 1 hour prior to the service, 9 to 10am at Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary. Services Saturday, December 17, 2016, 10am in the Chapel of Peace located at Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary. He will be laid to rest at Olinger Crown Hill Cemetery, Wheat Ridge, Colorado.
