

Dr. John A. Blackman, a resident of Arvada, Colorado and a native of Mobile, Alabama. He was born on February 4, 1928 and passed away January 29, 2012. Dr. Blackman practiced dentistry in Mobile, Alabama for many years with his brother, Dr. James E. Blackman and nephew, Dr. James E. Blackman, Jr.
He was a life member of the Alabama and American Dental Association. He was also a member of the Alabama Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Blackman was a 1956 graduate of the University of Alabama School of Dentistry. He attended Spring Hill College in Mobile and got his undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama.
He served his country on Guam in the United States Marine Corp.
For many years Dr. Blackman went several times a year to do medical ministries in Central and South America and Mexico.
He was active in his church as a choir member, Deacon, Elder and Sunday School Teacher.
He is presently a member of Faith Bible Chapel in Arvada.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mildred Blackman; brother, Dr. James E. Blackman; daughter, Paige Blackman Fitzpatrick and daughter Kyla Pearson Blackford.
He is survived by his wife, Bette C. Blackman; daughter, Portia Blackman Pearson; sister, Millie Parnell; 4 granddaughters and 10 great grandchildren.
