

John Kamerick, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, peacefully departed this life on September 10th 2026, at the age of 82. Born on September 25, 1943, in California, John was the beloved son of Violet and John Kamerick. His journey through life was marked by a steadfast dedication to family, country, and community.
John proudly served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Constellation, where he demonstrated his love for his country and commitment to serve. After his military service he returned to civilian life, where he built a successful career as an auto mechanic. With a passion for craftsmanship and a love of the sea, he seamlessly transitioned to marine mechanics. John's service to the community extended beyond the workshop; he also served as a police officer with the Mountain View Police Department, where his gentle spirit and steadfast resolve left a lasting impact.
John's life was rich with interests and hobbies. An avid fisherman and hunter, he found solace and joy in the great outdoors. His love for woodworking was evident in the beautiful creations he crafted with care. He enjoyed the camaraderie of bowling and the challenge of golf, and he never missed an opportunity to cheer on his beloved Broncos. A very special weekly card game with his sister Mona was a joy. Known for his sense of humor, he delighted in sharing jokes that brightened the days of those around him.
Family was the cornerstone of John's life. He is survived by his wife, Janet Kamerick, his daughter, Kimberly Hawk, who carries forward John's legacy of kindness and integrity. His granddaughter, Kalia Brown, was a source of immense pride and joy, and he cherished every moment spent with her. John's sister, Mona Patton, also survives him, holding dear the memories of their shared childhood, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
John's kind heart and gentle spirit endeared him to all who knew him. He was always ready to lend a hand, offering support and encouragement to friends and family alike. His legacy is one of love, laughter, and service—a testament to a life well-lived and a man deeply loved. we celebrate his life and bid farewell to a remarkable man.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, an organization that was close to John's heart. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time.
As we say goodbye to John, we hold fast to the words that echo in our hearts: "Gone from sight, but never from the heart."
