

Joseph F. Amorosia passed away gently on August 17, 2017 in Lakewood, Colorado. Joseph was born in New York, NY on June 26, 1926 to his parents Giovanni and Catherine. He was married to his wife Mae on December 21, 1947 for 56 years whom he met in Denver after his discharge from the Army. He had two children, Valerie Neff married to Richard Neff and Glenn Amorosia married to Sandra Amorosia.
He has 6 grandchildren (Michael and Sam Neff, Dale and Dominic Amorosia, Nicole Fasone and Rebecca McCarley).
Joseph worked as an Architect after attending Brooklyn Tech. He worked on the New York City Thruway while living in New York in the late 1940’s and early 1950’s. In Denver, he designed several post offices that are still in operation in the Denver area. He also worked for other Federal Government agencies after leaving the Post Office. he retired in 1981.
His favorite teams were the New York Yankees (Joe DiMaggio was his hero) and the Denver Broncos. He never watched the Bronco games on TV though because they made him nervous. He had season tickets for several years and rooted the Orange Crush onto victory at the old Mile High Stadium in their first playoff appearance victories against Pittsburgh and Oakland in 1977 prior to their first Super Bowl appearance.
In his retirement years, he and Mae travelled and lived in Palm Springs, CA, Rancho Bernardo, CA and in St. George, UT before returning to Denver in 2002. Joe was an avid fisherman and loved to go to Georgetown and to Bear Creek Lake. He served as an usher at Holy Family Church in Denver for several years.
