Joseph E. Browning was born March 8, 1928 in Zanesville, OH and deceased February 14, 2019 in Arvada, CO. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert S. Browning and Icy Hodge Browning, and sisters, Grace Browning and Almera Browning Turner. Joe is survived by his spouse of over 65 years, Claudine Browning, and daughter, Claudia Jo Moore (Gary), and many nieces and nephews.
Joe served in the Ohio National Guard prior to serving in the US Army from November 1950 to November 1952. He was stationed at Camp Pickett, VA, and served as an instructor in hospital procedures.
Joe retired from Mail Well Envelopes in 1989 as a sales manager. He had been with Mail Well, originally Rockmont Envelopes for 32 years.
Joe was a member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church. He was also a Mason with Lakewood Lodge #170.
His many hobbies included fishing and woodworking. He also enjoyed music and reading, especially Louis L’Amour and Tony Hillerman. He was definitely a semi-Colorado native after over 65 years. Joe was a great handyman and tackled anything and everything. An avid Denver Broncos fan, he tried to never miss a game - win or lose.
