Joyce's life was most often full, busy, happy and varied. Born in Denver on January 18th in St. Luke's Hospital she grew up in Denver and lived most of her life in the metro area. Eight years ago she married her high school sweetheart Carl and moved to Cotopaxi, Co. Joyce grew up being a "tomboy" loving to spend time with her Dad, especially going fishing. She was a petite vivacious teen who loved her friends and kept many from her years at South High throughout her life. She was a natural in business settings where she could engage others. Joyce worked in real-estate and retail sales before marrying Larry Stanley in 1972. The marriage immediately brought 5 stepchildren into her life. Already having Lorri, she and Stan then added Kathy and Neal. Joyce seemed to seamlessly become a loving mom to all the family. During the ensuing years, although very busy, she always had time for her friends and also to become head of Christian Education at church. She was most often the instigator of family-wide picnics which included many "adopted" friends as well. Her fried chicken was always the picnic staple!
In 1988 Joyce was again single and immediately and enthusiastically joined the work force in real-estate and title insurance work. Always ready to help herself she worked a second job to cover car payments. Her grandkids then became the focus of her love and attention. In 2002 Joyce and Carl reconnected and it wasn't long before they married. Happy times included friends, family, trips to Alaska, Mexico, Texas and Nevada. Early years of struggle, hard work and long hours evolved into many enjoyable and peaceful times before her passing. We all will miss her and love the many wonderful memories.
