Julia Georgia Bruno was born on February 22nd, 1920 in Crested Butte, Colorado. She was born to Italian immigrant parents, who eventually moved their large family to Denver. Julia had 9 siblings. She is preceded in death by Carmela, Mary, Lena, Henry, Fred, Marjorie, and Helen. She is survived by Betty and Eugene. Julia had one daughter Donna, who blessed her with 6 grandchildren, Paul, Todd, Neil, Amy, Julie and Jeremy; 12 great-grandchildren, Clayton, Coleby, Cory, Madison, Will, Derek, Melissa, Evan, Camryn, Julia, Chase and Bryson; 2 greatgreat
grandchildren, Bentley and Cylus.
Julia worked as a beautician, where she met her husband Jimmy Short. They lived together in North Denver, until Jimmy’s passing. Julia later worked as a bookkeeper and sales associate for May D&F, where she eventually retired. Julia stayed in her home until 2011, when it became too difficult to keep up with things on her own.
Julia loved gardening and spending time with her family. Babies always made her smile. Holidays were always a big event at Grandma’s house.
There were many important life lessons that Julia has passed down to her family. She will be greatly missed and cherished forever in our hearts.
