Kenneth Hill, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on October 10, 2026, at Littleton Adventist Hospital following a brief illness. Born on April 26, 1946, in Denver, Colorado, Kenneth was the cherished son of William and Esther Hill.
Kenneth's life was a testament to quiet strength, dedicated service, and unwavering faith. He was predeceased by his parents, his brother Richard, and his beloved daughter, Sara Elizabeth. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 56 years, Caroline Monahan Hill; his son, Christopher Kevin Hill; his daughter, Stefanie DeMonbrun, and her husband Michael; and his treasured grandchildren, Elliana and Charlie. Kenneth also leaves behind aunts, several cousins, and numerous nieces and nephews who will forever remember his gentle spirit and warm heart.
An alum of Denver East High School, Kenneth graduated in 1964 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Math Education from Colorado State College in 1968. His commitment to education and service extended beyond academia; from 1969 to 1975, he honorably served in the Colorado Air National Guard, retiring as a Sergeant.
Kenneth's professional journey began in education, teaching 7th grade in Denver and Aurora. He later transitioned to a career at Burlington Northern Railroad, where he worked in customer service and accounting until his retirement in 2006. His colleagues admired him for his exceptional skills in math and accounting, his punctuality, and his exemplary customer service.
A pillar of the community, Kenneth was a dedicated member of Grace and Our Father Lutheran Churches for over 60 years. He was actively involved in numerous church and community boards, and took pleasure in serving as a counter and on the finance team at Our Father. His kindness and humility were evident to all, as he quietly supported and befriended many church members, especially the younger ones.
Kenneth found joy in simple pleasures, such as singing traditional hymns and ensuring the weekly trash duties were done to perfection. His love for the Denver Broncos was well-known, a passion shared with his family, despite his unusual decision to return his tickets after the team's early Super Bowl wins.
An avid supporter of local sports, Kenneth spent countless hours coaching and refereeing in Adams and Arapahoe counties, celebrating the achievements of his children and grandchildren. His presence will be dearly missed on the sidelines and at family gatherings.
Kenneth's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the medical staff at Littleton Adventist Hospital's Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, as well as friends, family, and the staff at Our Father Lutheran Church for their support and care during this difficult time.
A service to honor Kenneth's life will be held on October 19, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Father Lutheran Church, 6335 S. Holly St, Centennial, CO. This will be followed by a luncheon in the church's fellowship hall.
On the following day, October 20, at Crown Hill Cemetery there will be a brief visitation in the main building. Burial services will follow at 11:00 in the family's extended lot, #169. All are invited to either/or both days' events.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Hinchey Scholarship Fund or Steven Olsen Medical Fund at Our Father Lutheran Church, or to the Colorado Humane Society, reflecting Kenneth's love for both education and animals.
Kenneth's legacy of love, faith, and dedication will forever be cherished by all who knew him. He has now joined his daughter, Sara, with his Heavenly Father, and the cherished family dogs, Oliver, Nala, Daisy, and sometime later, Bella, at the rainbow bridge.
